Chairman Tony Anderton
(1) Chairman’s Report:
The meeting opened at 1930 with the Chairman welcoming 15 members in attendance. Chairman pointed out that to have an effective committee we need to recruit a new deputy chairman to replace Merfyn Thomas who is stepping down after many years of stalwart service as well as a secretary. The work is not too onerous, especially when shared out. If you have any interest, please get in touch. The AGM will be held in July, and we will also have the Police & Crime commissioner visit.

(3) Police Report:
There were reports of anti-social and criminal behaviour in Min y don park, Ffordd y Graig allotments and the use of e-bikes on Abergele road. The previous weekend saw a serious allision on Peulwys lane, Old Colwyn when a vehicle left the road and struck a house on Gwynant. Police attended and we will see what the conclusion is. A discussion about the issue and was had.

(5) Peulwys Fields:
Excavation and soil test paraphernalia seen on the farm. As pointed out, this is perfectly legitimate for the owner to carry out and does not indicate any progress on planning and permissions etc.
(6) Plas Gwilym Quarry:
Large lorries appear to be using the quarry outside the stated operating times. Our local councillors are monitoring the situation. It was suggested that ‘Operation Snap’ may be of use in this situation.
(7) Local Issues and Defects:
A discussion on the council’s litter bin policy. It was reported that a bin audit has been done and we will write to find out what has been said. St Catherine’s church owner has been in touch with the litter pickers, but permission has not yet been given. A discussion of the litter picking group needs to take place to further this issue. There are no plans to resurface Min y Don Park tennis courts, it was felt that new nets would be a great improvement on the current situation. The trees at the top of Coed Coch road on the right-hand side need cutting back. Council is aware. If members become aware of any defects or issues in the locality, please use the Conwy reporting system which is on the website. Lower Wynnstay Road will be fully resurfaced. The top of Wynnstay Road is subject to traffic management issues. Speed limit changes 20mph to 30 mph, Highlands Road to Cambrian drive and Rotary way will revert to 30 mph. Use of the ‘Pride in Place’ fund and grants from the Wind turbines fund was discussed for village improvements. Victoria club is under new ownership- plans being monitored.
(8) Any other business:
Is completion of the promenade in the vicinity of Rotary way planned? It was reported that this will occur within this financial year. Arriva bus stops are lacking printed timetables. Write to request. Old Colwyn post office situation? Attempt to clarify situation. Summer fair will be held at St John’s church, station road on 11th July 12-3pm. The next meeting and AGM will be held on July 7th 1930. Given that we will host a visit of the Police & Crime commissioner, normal business will be held back to the August meeting. It would be helpful if questions for the commissioner were presented in advance. Please respond to me. I will collate them and pass them on so any further information can be sought.
